Director Byron C. Miller has attached Hannah Fierman, Conner Marx, and cinematographer Ryan Purcell to an independent horror feature now actively looking for investment.
Byron C. Miller is bringing Beware the Moon to market, an erotic werewolf nightmare built around a grieving man whose life comes apart after he survives an attack. As the transformation takes hold, he is hunted by a relentless monster hunter while trying to hold onto a new relationship, confront his trauma, and stay tethered to a reality that keeps dissolving into hallucination and brutal violence.
The film is positioned as an emotional character piece wrapped inside an unapologetically visceral horror film. According to Miller, the screenplay was written from the outset to be produced independently on a modest budget without sacrificing cinematic ambition, a structural decision that puts the project in the range of financiers looking for contained genre material with clear commercial identity. The script has been recognized as a finalist in screenplay competitions.

Miller has directed two independent horror features that secured distribution, NIGHT (2006) and The Anatomy of Monsters (2014), alongside shorts, music videos, branded content, and other narrative work. For the past seven years he has worked as a Content Producer at Wongdoody’s Seattle office, holding the Senior level for the last three, with much of that work centered on large-scale campaigns for T-Mobile. He also spent four years as Lead Producer on the Seattle International Film Festival’s marketing campaign, and this year directed and co-edited the festival trailer. Miller has toured internationally as a musician and frontman, experience he credits for shaping his visual storytelling and his approach to directing performers.

Fierman is one of the most recognizable faces in modern independent horror, known to genre audiences for V/H/S, Bystanders, and Shudder’s Creepshow series.
Marx brings a television track record built on New Amsterdam and Z Nation, the latter placing him in front of a genre audience that overlaps directly with the market for this film.
Ryan Purcell (IMDb) is attached as director of photography. Purcell shot The Stairs and the SIFF trailers for 2023 and 2026, and worked in the camera department on Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me.
