Disturbia Films is incredibly proud to announce that ROOM TONE has been officially selected for the 2026 Happenstance Horror Fest, taking place on November 7, 2026, in Salem, Massachusetts.

The selection is an enormous honour for everyone involved with the film.

With nearly 1,000 submissions considered for this year’s festival, ROOM TONE survived an exceptionally competitive selection process to become part of Happenstance Horror Fest’s 2026 official program.

For an independent horror production, being selected by a festival celebrating horror, genre cinema, and unconventional film making means an incredible amount to us. To have ROOM TONE recognized among such a huge number of submissions is something the entire team is immensely proud of.

And frankly, if a horror film is going to be summoned anywhere, Salem feels pretty perfect.

Happenstance Horror Fest will bring filmmakers and audiences together in one of the most historically iconic locations imaginable for horror, with the festival taking place in Salem, Massachusetts on November 7.

The festival described this year’s submissions as an extraordinary collection of horror, genre, and wonderfully strange work from creators around the world, making ROOM TONE’s inclusion particularly special.

We are genuinely honoured to have been selected by such a prestigious genre festival and to have ROOM TONE become part of its 2026 program.

But this recognition belongs just as much to the incredible crew who helped make ROOM TONE possible.

Independent film making is built on people who care enough to push themselves far beyond what should reasonably be expected, and this production was surrounded by a crew who did exactly that. Every department brought something essential to the film, and the finished piece exists because of the dedication, creativity, patience, and sheer determination of the people behind it.

A particularly enormous thank you has to go to Vikki TY, who pulled off the film’s sound design under an absolutely brutal deadline with what can only be described as superhuman determination.

Sound is fundamental to ROOM TONE. It is not simply something sitting underneath the images. It is part of the horror, part of the tension, and part of the storytelling itself. What Vikki achieved under that pressure was extraordinary, and the film is immeasurably stronger because of her work.

To Vikki, and to every member of our incredible crew who gave their time, talent, energy, and belief to this project: this selection belongs to you too.

Independent film making takes persistence, trust, creativity, and occasionally some deeply questionable life choices, so seeing ROOM TONE begin its festival journey like this makes all of that work worthwhile.
